Home Learning #12

Debate Club
  • Research your essay question
    • Speak to people. Ask friends and family about what they think.
Literacy
  • Spellings
    • We missed spellings due to the Christmas rehearsal and (surprise, surprise) we weren't all here to go through the SPAG.
    • Therefore, I am going to let you off and we will just do the spelling from last week next Friday.
 Maths
  • Khan Academy
    • Amy stormed away with the challenge last week (49,892 points), followed in second place by Alistair.
    • Who can knock her off her top spot.

Anti Home Learning
  • DO NOT think about tides
    • If you hear people talking about the recent tidal floods, DO NOT listen.
    • DO NOT think about what causes tides.
    • Under no circumstance must you even look at the moon (There isn’t much of it to see at the moment anyway – but it will become more visible shortly so DON’T LOOK)
Christmas Songs
  • Learn the songs for the Christmas production
    • This version has extra verses but you get the idea
    • Three Kings
      • This one has disabled embedding so you'll have to click the link
      • I think he goes a bit rogue at the end as well but never mind. If anyone asks, we've practised these loads.

Extras

  • Sainsbury’s Centre for Visual Arts
    • Take three people to the Sainsbury’s Centre
    • Its free to go into the main collection but well worth the money to see the Masterpieces exhibition.
    • Show off how much you know about art
    • Stand around, stroke your chin and talk about the artist’s use of light
  • Ashes
    • Another miserable start to this test but we will remain positive. Read Nathan’s blog about the Ashes.
    • This guy is destroying England. What do you think of him? Is he a nice guy?

  • Christmas Number 1
    • Check out this guy. What do you reckon to his chances of becoming Christmas Number 1?
